Seeds in 100 Days At Sea: Custom Seed, Best Seed, Map Layout
Updated 2026-09-02 · Roblox 100 Days At Sea
The short version: a seed in 100 Days At Sea decides the map layout - which islands spawn, where they sit relative to your raft base, and which of the two biomes (fire or ice) you get. The same seed gives the same map, which is why the Fandom Pearls page describes players "repeatedly raiding a boss den, using a specific seed, close to base" and restarting as soon as the boss dies. There is no official "best seed". The community shares seeds it likes, and none of the source pages we work from names a specific seed, so this page does not list any. Instead it gives the checklist for judging a seed yourself: how close the three survivor islands are, whether the three radio towers are visible from base, how far the squid islands are, and which biome spawned.
What a seed controls
The Fandom Islands page documents how much of a map is fixed and how much varies between games. This is effectively a list of what a seed decides.
| Map element | Fixed every game | Varies with the seed |
|---|---|---|
| Fisherman's Island | Always spawns about 50 m in front of base | Nothing |
| Radio Tower Islands (3) | Always three; normally close enough to see from base | Exact position |
| Survivor Islands | Always three | Which 3 of the 6 survivors appear; one close, one mid-range, one far |
| Pirate Islands (3) plus Stronghold | Always four; 3, 6 and 9 ghost pirates by distance | Which island design is closest ("the closeness order is random") |
| Squid Islands | Always present, about 500-1000 m from base | Exact distance within that band (community-reported, unconfirmed) |
| Biome | Exactly one per map | Fire biome (volcano) or ice biome (penguins) |
| Alien Islands | Not fixed | Spawn occasionally; summoned with alien transponders after alien raids |
| Treasure Islands | Not fixed | Spawn occasionally; unlocked with treasure bottles |
| Oil Rigs (small, big, huge) | Always three, located via transponders | Distance; small rig may be visible from base, others further |
The wiki wording is "most POIs always spawn identically in each game (the same island each time, though not always at the same place)". So a custom seed mainly changes distances and which variants you get, not the loot tables. See all islands for what each POI rewards.
How to enter a custom seed
Seeds are reportedly chosen when you start a new game rather than mid-run (community-reported, unconfirmed). The exact menu path (where the field sits in the lobby, character limits, whether a blank field gives a random seed) is not documented yet in the Fandom pages this site is built from. What is confirmed is that players do use specific seeds on purpose, and that a seed reproduces a layout well enough to farm a boss den near base over and over.
How to read your current seed is also not documented yet. If you find a good map by chance, noting the seed before leaving is community-reported practice; whether the game displays it in-run is unconfirmed.
What makes a good seed
Because the seed sets distances, the best seed is the one that puts the high-value POIs close to your raft. Ranked by how much they matter for day count:
| Feature to look for | Why it matters | What a strong seed looks like |
|---|---|---|
| Survivor islands close | Each rescued survivor is +1 day multiplier and they automate your base | All three within easy dinghy range; note the Fandom says distance does not change difficulty |
| Radio towers visible from base | Each transponder pins a rig; rigs give container items worth +1 multiplier each | All three towers in sight of the raft |
| Easy survivors | Stephen needs no weapon; Madeline's guards are weak; Erik needs a gun | Stephen or Madeline rather than Erik in the close slot |
| Squid islands near the 500 m end | Ancient Squid gives +10 pearls, +1 multiplier, Squid Laser | Main squid island around 500 m |
| Pirate islands close | Stronghold gives +1 multiplier, 5 pearls, ghost cutlass and the galleon bell | Shortest possible chain of 3, 6, 9 pirates |
| Preferred biome | Ice biome is needed for the penguin badge; fire biome for the volcano badge | Whichever badge you still need |
Discovering every island on the map also adds +1 multiplier, so a compact map where islands cluster is easier for the Magellan badge than a spread-out one. Fandom tip for that badge: build the map radar (4 metal, 9 wood); grey islands are undiscovered, and a jetski outruns the anglerfish at night.
Snow region seeds and ice seeds
Searches for "snow region seeds" and "good ice seed" are really asking for a map with the ice biome. Each map has exactly one biome, so every seed is either an ice map or a fire map; there is no separate snow region on top of the normal map. On an ice seed you collect 20 penguins across 7 POI islands, bring them to the penguin mother, and fight the King of the Snow for the ice staff, +1 multiplier and 5 pearls. Penguins do not respawn, so do not lose them. See bosses for the fight itself.
"Easy seed for 45 minutes"
No seed shortens a day. A day is 3 minutes and a night 1 minute 30 seconds, so every cycle is 4 minutes 30 seconds and adds your current multiplier to the day count. Speed comes from the multiplier, not the seed: survivors (+3), containers (+4), stronghold (+1), full map (+1), Ancient Squid (+1), biome boss (+1) reach x12 through non-renewable means, and each corruption dungeon clear adds another +1. A seed with everything close simply lets you stack those faster. Defeating the Ghost Galleon boss adds one full multiplier to the day count instantly, which the Fandom notes can push you past day 100 on the spot.
Seed farming for pearls
The one seed-specific strategy the wiki documents is boss-den farming: pick a seed with a boss den close to base, do not put wood on the bonfire (so the day cycle never starts and nights never come), kill the boss, then start a new game with the same seed and repeat. The Fandom notes it works mainly with strong offensive classes, especially Alien Overlord. Which seeds have a den next to spawn is community-reported, unconfirmed; the wiki does not print one.
The wiki lists the same pearl payouts regardless of map: 5 for the biome bosses, stronghold and Corruptor, 10 for the Ancient Squid, 20 for escaping. See pearls.
Seed questions answered
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Is there one best seed? | No. The map differs per seed and no source names an official best; judge by the table above. |
| Does a seed change loot? | Not documented as changing loot. POIs "spawn identically", only placement and variant differ. |
| Does a seed fix which survivors appear? | The wiki says 3 of 6 spawn per game and a seed reproduces a map, so yes in practice; community-reported, unconfirmed. |
| Do alien and treasure islands depend on the seed? | They "spawn occasionally each game" via transponders and bottles, so they depend on your run, not only the seed. |
| Can I share a seed with friends? | Community-reported, unconfirmed: players pass seeds around by text; there is no in-game seed browser documented. |
